DESCRIPTION: EPW - J. Huguenin Droz, Locle, two-train tandem-winding chronograph with center-seconds and 1/4-second jump, chronograph with start/stop function controlled by button on band at 12, 55mm, heavy 14K gold (tested) original HC with misleading "K 18" in cameo, superb engine turning and engraving detail, bow with chain guards, gold cuvette, white enamel SS dial, SW-shift-locking-LS, lever escapement, possibly 23J, fausses-cĂ´tes pattern nickel damascene, s#10068 within case. Gross weight of assembled watch 91.2 dwt (141.8 g).
CONDITION: Mvt: Starts ticking when wound but one winding assembly fully releases tension backward with every several turns of the crown and the other mainspring is likely broken and builds no tension, good stop/start chronograph and 1/4-second jump function as tested with mvt ticking, overhaul needed, excellent cosmetic mvt condition overall, plates with some toning, scattered micro-fine scratches and some mild surface dirtiness, few micro-fine scratches to winding wheels and disk around balance jewel; dial with some separation to seating of right side of seconds-register, few fine and micro-fine scratches to right center, few very mild spots of wispy haze in glaze reflection when viewed at angle; fine-plus hands with some minor oxide; case shows hardly any wear, mild shallow crease type dent toward lower-right perimeter of rear, excellent engine turning and engraving detail; tight bow, crown shows light wear; good glass crystal.
